'Who are we to write a book on marriage? We have a far-from-perfect marriage - and some days, it doesn't even reach that yardstick! Yet as we continued to pray, we realised that we wanted to write about was not our own self-sufficiency or wisdom but the goodness, faithfulness and sufficiency of Christ when everything in life - including your marriage - is being tested and tried.'

The Book of Job is not the usual place to start in for a book on marriage, but its wisdom and hope have helped Sarah and Jeff Walton navigate the frightening storms that have hit their family. Job loss and insecurity, illness, special needs and watching a child suffer don’t all come every couple’s way, but these are the pressures that threatened to overwhelm and sink the Waltons. After 16 years their marriage had taken a severe battering, but in the book of Job, they learned to find strength, wisdom and even great joy in the toughest of situations. Their infectious conviction is that no marriage is beyond the immense grace and mercy of Christ. A short video on the Good Book company website has an interview with Sarah and Jeff about the unique pressures and opportunities that the Corona lockdown have brought for families.
