As we stream our Sunday services on YouTube and Facebook during the lockdown season, we encourage families to tune in together and participate. At the times in the morning service when children and young people would normally head to their groups, we encourage you to prepare the resources mentioned below for those in Treasure Seekers and Kids Alive. This section will be updated regularly. For those in YP1, our youth minister, David Ridal will be in touch with resources for this age group.
RESOURCES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH ON SUNDAYS DURING COVID-19
Sunday 24 May
Treasure Seekers and Kids Alive
Please follow the instructions sent out by email to help you child to access either a Treasure Seekers video or a Kids Alive Zoom session. You can also find the Treasure Seekers video for this week below.
The passage for TSKA this week is Acts 10v1-48. The link to the teaching notes is below to use if they’re helpful or simply reading the story and thinking it through together is a great option.
Suggested activities from the notes are as follows (both need printing beforehand):
Treasure Seekers: Option A (colouring sheet) or they could make animals which were considered ‘unclean’ out of play-doh/clay (camels, rabbits, pigs, ravens, owls, lizard are some of the unclean animals listed in Leviticus 11). Might be helpful to print out a picture of some of them to copy.
Kids Alive: Worksheet C (7-8 year olds), Worksheet D (9-10 year olds)
Zoom meeting on Sunday for those in Kids Alive (details in a separate email)
Why not try the Bible App for Kids? It’s free to download and this week’s story is called Everybody’s Welcome! https://play.google.
The Good Book Company currently have discounts on many of their children’s books – find them at https://www.thegoodbook.co.

YOUTH AND CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES
Each Sunday morning service includes Creche, Treasure Seekers, Kids Alive and YP1 as below.
Please also note arrangements for Summer Sundays and occasional all-age services.
CRECHE FOR AGES 0 TO 3 YEARS
A well-equipped creche is available supervised by DBS checked staff. During their time in the creche all children will have the opportunity to join with a short time each week hearing about God and the Bible, join in with songs and do some craft plus play with many toys too! All activities and resources are age and stage appropriate.
TREASURE SEEKERS FOR AGES 3 TO 6 YEARS
Treasure Seekers join with the main congregation for the first part of the service and then leave for their own group part way through the service. Singing, craft, music and Bible stories put together by an experienced team – a great time for little ones.
KIDS ALIVE FOR AGES 6 TO 10 YEARS
Kids Alive join with the main congregation for the first part of the service and then leave for their own group part way through the service. Interactive and lively, they learn to see themselves and God through the Bible.
YP1 FOR SCHOOL YEARS 6 TO 9
YP1 join with the rest of the congregation in the Church on Sunday mornings before leaving for their own group during the service. Our skilled Youth Team is led by the Youth Minister and tuned into where pre-teens and teens are at. Lively discussion, straightforward Bible teaching and searching discussion: the young people love it!
YP2 FOR SCHOOL YEARS 10 UPWARDS
YP2 meets on Sundays at the church (6:15-7:30pm) to join with the rest of the congregation for a time of sung worship and teaching. Following light refreshments immediately after the service, they meet for their own programme (8:00-9:15pm) of Bible-based discussion geared to their age group.
From 28 July to 1 September there will be one morning service starting at 10:15am. After the usual 10-15 minutes all together, children aged 3-10 years will leave for a mixture of Bible teaching, indoor and outdoor games, crafts and activities. Crèche will operate as usual and YP1 will stay with the regular congregation.
Very occasionally we may have an all-age service on a Sunday morning. Check the calendar for details of upcoming services.
